Contemporary dance is an extension to the classical technique. Students learn about technique, dynamics and expression through alignment, gravity, contraction, release and suspension. ASHMORE JAZZ DANCE CLASSES
Students love learning jazz at HDA! It’s fast, upbeat and fun – and a great workout. In jazz classes, we experiment with different music, dynamic routines and have a lot of fun. Hinterland Dance Academy celebrates the end of every year with a large production at The Arts Centre Ashmore. This is our opportunity to showcase the students’ achievements and give every student a chance to experience the joy of performing on stage – in costumes and stage makeup – just like professional dancers. Each class learns a routine and all students are involved. Everyone is welcome to join us to see what HDA students at our Ashmore ballet classes can do!
ASHMORE BALLET LESSONS
For Ashmore ballet lessons that teach classical technique of the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. Very young dancers attend lessons once a week. Students from Primary (usually age 6) to Grade 5 must attend 2 ballet lessons per week. Vocational Level ballet students must attend a minimum of 3 ballet lessons per week.
